Carnaval de Lucha Results

January 30, 2017

Sun. Jan. 29 2017 – Lucha in the 6 and Variety Village teamed up to deliver a jam packed Carnaval de Lucha.

In the HYPE-UP match, MedEVIL with The Veil made quick work out of his opponent from Quebec.

The opening match featured a 6-Way Scramble which saw The Hacker defeat “Flying Gambino” Jason Cade, Space Monkey, Argus, Sebastian Suave, and Alexia Nicole.

The Veil’s Mal de Ojo asked for any man to challenge Bearicade in a Carnaval style Man vs Bear Challenge. The unlucky participant who accepted the challenge was the returning El Hijo del Bigote.

Man vs Bear Challenge:

Bearicade defeated El Hijo del Bigote following a Bearbomb.

This wasn’t enough for Bearicade or Mal de Ojo, they challenged someone who is bigger and stronger. El Craneo, who is forced to be Mal de Ojo’s slave following a loss during an Indecent Proposal match, stepped up to accept the challenge. While Mal de Ojo was apprehensive to allow his Bear to fight Craneo, he eventually agreed after Bearicade asked for the match-up.

Man vs Bear Challenge 2:

Bearicade defeated El Craneo when MedEVIL hit Craneo across the back with a Singapore Cane following Mal de Ojo’s distraction.

Relaxed Rules Trios Match:

John Greed & Kickin’ N’ Stompin’ defeated Warhed & Fight or Flight when Vaughn Vertigo turned on his long-time tag team partner, Gabriel Fuerza, and assisted John Greed’s team to victory.

Following the match, Vaughn Vertigo joined John Greed’s team as their newest member.

#1 Contendership Match:

“Death Machine” Sami Callihan defeated “King of the North” Carter Mason following a Stretch Muffler submission.

3-Way ROYAL Tag Team Championship Match:

Super Smash Bros defeated The Fraternity and Silently Loud after pinning the Fraternity with the Fatality

Premier Championship Match:

Desean Pratt retained against “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander after countering a Tombstone Piledriver with a roll-up.

Afterwards, John Greed, Kickin’ N’ Stompin’, and Vaughn Vertigo attacked Desean Pratt and Josh Alexander. Before any real damage could be done, Sami Callihan ran out and cleared the ring.

The event ended when Sami Callihan stood toe-to-toe with Desean Pratt with both men holding the Championship.

Thank you for helping us make Carnaval de Lucha a huge success. Because of all of our supporters, we were able to raise enough proceeds to donate TWO Scholarships to Variety Village in 2017!

Our next event will be at Lee’s Palace on March 5 featuring the Canadian debut of Kikutaro and Kaiju Big Battel.
